I can not find any classes in lightwave. So I am thinking about taking EI 3D classes hoping this will make a easy jump to lightwave.

hmmm.
It's that old chesnut again- "I wanna' learn
3D computer graphics".
Right, on the relative scale of things-
Lightwave is a pretty easy piece software
to pick up. When I first started to learn
3d many years ago, I didn't have any manuals
to help me, and I had to grit my teeth and
learn by trial and error. The fudamentals
of all 3d software are all essentialy the
same i.e. X Y Z.
There are plenty of Tutorial books out there
to help out if you don't have legit software.
check out->http://www.amazon.co.uk
The thing to keep in mind, is that GOOD cg
is hard work and very time consuming.
A three day course in Lightwave won't teach
you how to be a good Artist, which is
crucial. It takes years to become a good
artist, and just as long to master 3d.
As with any creative medium you've either
got it, or you haven't.
Above all, if your not artistic in the
first place then don't bother.
"many have tried..."
"Tried and failed?"
"No, tried and died."
If ya' want a little insight in to 3d stuffe
check out ma' website(Effecting the Frog is
what you wanna look at..).

I don't believe it's a case of you've either got it or you haven't. Everyone has talent it's just a case of wether you decide to develop it or not. What you need is commitment and determination in your chosen field, if you don't have these things then you won't get any where. Faith in yourself is proportional to your ability to sucseed.
Lita I know very little about 3D, but I know it's going to take years of work and shear will before your able to support yourself by doing what you want to do.
You will do it if that is what you truly want.
